AI that can finally work inside the portals you log into

Much of a logistics team's day happens inside websites that require a login — carrier portals, a TMS, customs and port sites, load boards, shipper dashboards. The repetitive work there (checking a shipment's status, pulling a POD, updating a booking) is exactly what people hoped to hand to an AI assistant, but the login wall stopped it. OpenAI has changed that for its ChatGPT agent. When the agent reaches a login page, it pauses and hands the browser back to you; you type your username and password yourself, then hand control back and it carries on. While you enter credentials the agent captures nothing — no screenshots, and the password isn't stored. The login then persists across sessions, so you sign in once per site, the same way a normal browser keeps you logged in, and you can clear saved logins anytime in ChatGPT's data settings. In practice that means an agent can now run a routine inside the tools you already use behind a password — say, gathering delivery statuses across a few carrier portals — instead of stopping at the sign-in screen.
